Join mother and son duo, Jennifer Gracie and Zach Shea, for an engaging discussion as they explore meaningful spaces and share the rich history of their 125-year-old company. Discover the intricate processes and 300-year-old handpainting techniques that bring Gracie’s timeless designs to life.
For more than 125 years, Gracie has been renowned for their handpainted wallpapers that grace the rooms of some of the most notable homes and rooms in the world. The company, which has been family run since it was founded by James Gracie in 1898, is currently led by the fifth-and-sixth-generation Gracies. Jennifer Gracie, the company’s Creative Director; her brother and company president, Mike Gracie; and her son and sales director, Zach Shea. Now, in their first-ever book, The Art of Gracie, they go behind the scenes to share many never before seen spaces and rooms that feature a variety of sumptuous Gracie wallpapers, from atmospheric landscapes and panoramic cityscapes; to wallpapers that shimmer with metallic details; to the lush, floral wallpapers that embody the grandeur and elegance that have defined the Gracie brand since its earliest days. Join Jennifer and Zach for this special talk as they walk through these meaningful spaces and the company’s storied past while also sharing insight into the intensive processes and 300-year-old handpainting techniques involved in creating Gracie’s timeless designs.
