Dear Supporter and Friend,
We hope this note finds you and yours safe and healthy. Since our lives and lifestyle changed course in mid-March, the Board of Directors has been seeking creative ways to continue the success of the Washington Winter Show. We are inspired by the fact our founding mission, to raise funds and awareness to support health and education programs for underserved and at-risk children and families, has never been more important. Despite the many challenges at hand, we remain steadfast in our commitment to support these charities.
To succeed in 2021, we ask for your continued support as the Show enters the virtual world. We are excited to announce that the 66th Show will take place January 7th–10th, 2021 featuring a unique virtual format: @HOME with the Washington Winter Show. Whether @HOME in the kitchen, living room, library or garden, there will be something for everyone at the 2021 Show. In addition to exclusive access to antique and fine art dealers, we are planning an array of engaging and interactive digital activities throughout the weekend.
We invite you to join us @HOME in 2021 at the Benefactor level. With a $500 contribution your experience will include:
Two tickets to the VIP Reception and Gala Patrons’ Virtual Preview on Thursday, January 7th from 6–9 pm,
providing you the very first opportunity to see the Show and meet the dealersA $100 gift certificate to be applied to a single purchase over $500
Option to receive two @HOME meals by Susan Gage Catering for the virtual event
Recognition in printed and online marketing materials
This moment in time is a true test of strength and endurance for each of our partner charities and their communities. Students displaced from learning centers and schools, parents out of work, whole families needing meals on a daily basis, those with disabilities needing safe, reliable and around-the-clock care, and caregivers taking personal health risks to meet these real-life challenges, are just a few of the reasons that now is the time to make a difference. With over $9 million in grants to community-based charities over the past 65 years, the Washington Winter Show aims to continue our mission to support underserved
families in our local community. Our 2021 Beneficiaries are:
St. John’s Community Services, which supports the mainstreaming of children with disabilities in D.C. public schools
The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, a tuition-free institution dedicated to eliminating the achievement gap for African American boys and developing young men with the self-confidence to make a positive impact on our society
THEARC, offering cultural, health, and social services to children and families living east of the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C.
Please visit www.washingtonwintershow.org to secure your sponsorship by September 15th. We encourage you to bookmark our website and visit often for updates as we construct our @HOME events for the weekend. You may also register by calling us at 202.248.7159.
We look forward to having you join us @HOME from your home in January!
Sincerely,
Jonathan G. Willen, Executive Director
